Wedding Wednesday: Windjammer Landing Wedding

September 7, 2011

Please enjoy this exciting story from Stacie & Dan:

Dan and I met 3 years ago in Turks and Caicos while on separate vacations with friends at Club Med. I was down with a girlfriend and he was at the same resort with a few friends of his. It was an instant connection! We dated long distance between Chicago and NYC and then finally I made the leap of faith jump and left my job in Chicago and moved to NYC to be with him. A few years later…

We only thought it was fitting that we celebrate our special day once again on a beach. We decided that St. Lucia would be the perfect island because it gave us all the activities that could keep our guests occupied, beautiful beaches, direct flights from the east coast, and an island we had never been to.

When we originally started looking at destination locations we thought that Mexico would be the only affordable place to go with all-inclusive options. After doing some serious internet research and comparing locations we found a few places in Jamaica, Mexico, and St Lucia. Our biggest request was that the resort we chose was not a wedding factory. We wanted to be the resorts focus for the day and most of all we wanted a unique wedding that no one else had done before. As we narrowed down the resorts we just could not pass up the chance to visit a new island in the Caribbean St. Lucia and all that Windjammer Landing had to offer.  We finally decided on the Windjammer Landing when we realized the resort was beautiful, practical in price, gave us the all-inclusive option, and welcomed children, families and big wedding parties! We were hooked at that point.

We wanted gifts that our girls and guys could use for the rest of the week and wouldn’t be huge to throw into a suitcase to get home. For the guys we gave them vineyard vines belts to go with their VV outfits that they each picked out.  For the flower girl I went with the small vineyard vines tote…what little girl doesn’t love to get a purse to toss flowers from. My ring bearers were both decked out to the nines in their VV apparel as well as the father of the bride who had on a great coral VV tie.
